Abstract
This study investigated the efficacy of Theracurmin Super, a curcumin formulation with enhanced bioavailability, in the treatment of osteoarthritis. An in vivo model of osteoarthritis induced by monosodium iodoacetate (MIA) was used to assess the analgesic and weight-bearing effects of Theracurmin Super alone and in combination with glucosamine. The results demonstrated that both Theracurmin Super monotherapy and combination therapy significantly improved pain threshold and weight-bearing capacity compared to the control group. The combination therapy showed even greater benefits. Moreover, both treatment groups exhibited improvements in cartilage damage, with reduced severity of cartilage loss and destruction. Evaluation of bone volume and surface damage in the same test model indicated enhanced bone health in the treatment groups. Additionally, the combination therapy group exhibited a decrease in factors associated with inflammation and cartilage damage in joint tissues. These findings suggest that Theracurmin Super, whether used alone or in combination with glucosamine, holds promise as a treatment for osteoarthritis.
